There’s something about big, bright classroom displays that makes your room feel complete. ✨
But who has time to spend hours slaving over a massive bulletin board display??
An oversized classroom banner brings the big display WITHOUT the massive time commitment.
And it’s so easy you could honestly switch it out with the seasons or events coming up super easily.
Classroom banners can be used as:
🚪 Classroom door decor
📚 Above a classroom library
✏️ Bulletin board backdrop
🖍️ Empty wall space
🏫 Hallway displays
👋 Welcome signs for the beginning of the year
💪 Encouragement for testing
However you choose to use your classroom banner, they are easy to make a BIG impact without spending hours cutting, laminating, hanging, and stapling.
And the best part?
You can make them yourself in Canva!
Let me show you how! 👇
How to Create Your Own Classroom Banner
I LOVE creating these classroom banners in Canva. 😍
Canva makes it SUPER simple to make sure you have the right dimensions and gives you SO many options for customizing.
Plus, as a teacher, you get access to Canva Pro for FREE 🤩.
Once you pull up Canva, you want to create a new design and make sure it measures 2 feet by 6 feet.
Then, customize it to your heart’s content.
Next, download your completed banner as a PNG file.
Finally, upload it to Walgreens (or wherever you’re going to send your banner to print), and pick it up!
Voila! You have created your first (probably of many…it’s a bit addicting; I will let you know 😉) classroom banner!
Banner Templates
Now, if you are finding yourself staring at that blank canvas with NO idea of what to put on it, I’ve got you!!
I’ve created some printable banner templates that make this process EVEN easier.
There are three different styles of banners to choose from.

Modern Calm Colors banners, which welcome students with a calming color palette.

Hello Pastel banners, which bring some extra pizzazz to the school day with the bright pastel colors!

Pastel Composition banners, which throw it old-school with composition notebook backgrounds and other fun school supply-themed decor items.
What’s Included In the Banner Templates?
Each of the different banner templates comes with:
- Multiple wall decor banner designs (horizontal layout)
- Multiple door banner designs (vertical layout)
- Editable Canva templates
- Ready-to-Print versions of each banner
- Preschool through 6th grade banner versions
- Step-by-step video tutorial for Walgreens printing

The Canva templates provided are editable so that you can change up the text & font style, the color of the text, and the language of the text.
How to Customize Your Classroom Banner
All you need is four simple steps to customize your classroom banner and get it printed for your classroom.
First, open the template on Canva’s website.
Second, change the text you want.
Update the font, change the size of the text, and swap out the color if you want!
Third, download your finished classroom banner as a PNG image. You’ll want to change the quality to “2”, so it is high quality. (See the picture below as a reference.)

Fourth, print your 2 by 6 foot banner at Walgreens.
Now you are ready to welcome your students to your space in style!!
(And in half the time it would have taken you to create a bulletin board with the exact same message!)
Browse through my different classroom banner styles on my TPT store to find the perfect fit for your classroom!
And if you’re just starting to dip your toes into decorating your classroom, these banners go along with full classroom decor sets.
