Solutions to Missing Fonts in Powerpoint

Have you ever purchased a cute, editable product from TPT and when you open the PowerPoint, the embedded font is missing?

This image shows a diagram of two graphics- one with missing fonts in Powerpoint and it shows the basic arial font, the other contains the embedded fonts.

If this has ever happened to you, I’ve got you! It’s typically an easy fix. 🙂

Generally, all you need to do is make sure you have the latest version of PowerPoint installed on your computer. Sometimes the fonts won’t transfer if your PowerPoint hasn’t been updated in a while. Once you have updated PowerPoint, make sure PowerPoint has been fully closed and try to open the file again. This time, you should see the font automatically appear!

How do I update PowerPoint?

  • If you use a P.C., you can find the steps HERE.
  • If you are a Mac user, THIS will explain what to do.

The other issue is sometimes Macs will automatically try to open PowerPoint files in Keynote. To fix this, open the file in PowerPoint instead. 🙂

If you do not have PowerPoint, here is a link to try a free month trial- https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/try

There is no need to track down the missing font and purchase it. I embed custom fonts into all of my editable products! That way, you are able to use the font with the resource without having to pay for it. 🙂

I hope this is helpful!
