The Easiest Valentine’s Day Bulletin Board Idea (With a Meaningful Twist)

This image shows a bulletin board display that says "Choose Kindness" decorated with little hearts all along the bottom. The colors are all white, pink, and red, making it festive for February. The text at the bottom of the image reads, "The Easiest Valentine's Day Bulletin Board Idea (With a Meaningful Twist."

Love is in the air…and so is glitter (if your students are making homemade Valentine’s Day crafts 😅).

If you’re looking for a quick, simple, but cute Valentine’s Day bulletin board idea that will last the whole month of February, this one’s for you.

The display is cute but also not so Valentine-specific, so it can last all of February, not just until the 14th!

Simple Valentine’s Day Bulletin Board Idea

This display understood the assignment: simplicity without sacrificing quality.

Aaaand it provides an opportunity to remind your students of the importance of choosing kindness every day.

All you need to do is print everything out, then hang everything up, and you’re done!

You’ve instantly transformed your wall or empty bulletin board with a festive, encouraging message to your students. 😍

Check out this post for all of my bulletin board hacks to keep the process simple.

Now, if you want to elevate this display even further, check out how to make this an interactive bulletin board display. 🙌

But first, don’t forget to add this bulletin board to your TPT cart!

Make Your Display Interactive

It’s easy to talk about choosing kindness day after day, but putting it into practice is way harder.

Encourage your students to actually start living this phrase out by creating an interactive Valentine’s Day bulletin board display.

This image shows a bulletin board display for the month of February. The words in the middle of the board read "Choose Kindness" and everything is white, red, or pink. There is a banner along the top and hearts running along the bottom of the display.

There are SO many ways you can do this.

💕Write acts of kindness on the hearts (and you can print extra hearts so each student can write a way to be kind and place it all around the bulletin board).

💕  Add small pieces of paper with acts of kindness around the edges of the display.

💕 Post small envelopes under or on top of each heart and “reveal” a new act of kindness each day!

The main goal is to provide your students with practical tips on what “Choose Kindness” looks like on a day-to-day basis within your own classroom.

You could even brainstorm a list with your students to choose from, and then draw a random one each morning during February.

To get you started, I listed a few ideas below!

Kindness Challenge Idea List

Kick off your class list of ways to “Choose Kindness” with these ideas:

  • Smile at someone today
  • Draw an encouraging picture and give it away
  • Invite someone to sit with you or play with you
  • Leave a kind note in a library book
  • Encourage someone you see doing something hard
  • Write a thank-you note to a school staff member (cafeteria worker, custodian, bus driver, etc.)
  • Offer to help someone out
  • Give someone a genuine compliment
  • Pick up trash you see lying around
  • Let someone else go first
  • Offer to help your parents/guardians with dinner or cleaning the dishes
  • Let someone else get the first choice
  • Share your supplies with someone who forgot theirs
  • Say “Good Morning” to someone you don’t normally talk to
  • Ask someone about their day & listen to their answer
  • Help a friend stay positive after they make a mistake or have a rough day

Use a couple of these to help kick off your classroom list, and you’ll be blown away by what your students come up with. 🤩

Reference the bulletin board throughout the month (or several months) to remind students to choose kindness.

👉 Add this Choose Kindness bulletin board to your room this weekend!
