You fell in love with pastel colors paired with a retro flair in the pastel retro classroom bundle. 😍
But you aren’t sure where to hang or display these resources.
Come look inside a 1st grade classroom and a 3rd grade classroom to spark ideas for your own! ⤵️
1st Grade Pastel Retro Classroom
As you step inside Ally’s 1st grade classroom, you are immediately met with retro vibes. ✌️
The giant smiley face rug at the front of her room is SUCH a fun take on rainbow rugs for this theme!
Ally has implemented the pastel retro classroom bundle in so many elements of her classroom.
Everything is seamless and flows together so nicely. 🤩
Over her whiteboard you can see primary alphabet posters.
The top of your room is a great place to hang these posters so your students can reference them easily throughout your day.
The bottom of Ally’s whiteboard is also home to a wealth of resources.
She has her hand signal posters, a classroom jobs display, and classroom rules all displayed where she can easily reference them with her littles during whole group lessons.
Keeping these items at a lower eye level is a GENIUS idea when your students will do a lot of whole group learning sitting on the rug.
Word Wall
Ally has set up her word wall on her cabinets off to the side.
This is a great way to have resources around your classroom even if you don’t have lots of wall space.
Also, the smiley face pillow on the rolling chair is just perfect. 😍
Whiteboard Area
Ally has SO many great resources over this part of her classroom.
You can see a number line running along the top of the whiteboard, right underneath the comforting reminder of “You Got This!” 🥰
Number posters are along the bottom of her whiteboard.
I LOVE how Ally has thought through where her students’ eyes will be drawn to and place important resources right there.
She has a classroom full of littles, so using the spaces in between the whiteboard and the floor is a GREAT place for little ones. 🩷
Plus, all of her extras, the rugs and fun chairs are great inspiration for extra pops in your pastel retro classroom!
Calendar Display
No primary classroom (or elementary classroom) is complete without a calendar.
Ally used a pocket chart to hang her calendar right on her whiteboard.
Then, she used magnetic tape to attach the weather cards and days of the week for morning time.
Birthday Display
Figuring out where to place a birthday display can be tricky.
I love how she decided to simply use the wall. She didn’t need to make a full on bulletin board, and allowed her colored wall to be the perfect background.
This is a great idea for using the birthday display in your pastel retro classroom.
Voice Level Posters & Editable Labels
There are SO many great ideas in this picture, I LOVE it!
First off, you can see the voice level posters going down the wall.
Keeping these somewhere nearby where you give instructions is great to remind yourself to go over the voice level for each activity.
Then, we move to her shelves.
Ally is AMAZING at taking the editable labels included in the pastel retro classroom bundle and making them work for her.
Sometimes you just need to see someone else use a label in a certain way to have your own imagination sparked! ✨
Ally’s 1st grade pastel retro classroom is bursting with inspiration – both in decor and teaching.

3rd Grade Pastel Retro Inspiration
Come into Paxton’s cozy, 3rd grade pastel retro classroom.
This little entry table, lamp, and decor set up is stunning.
And really transforms the space from a boring classroom to a home you enjoy coming back to over and over again.
Affirmation Station
Paxton has added this pretty wood-framed mirror for her affirmation station.
This is a GREAT option that blends so nicely with all of the colors in the pastel retro decor bundle.
Also, this is an amazing use of a seeming waste of space in between the door and the start of the cabinets.
Skip Counting Numbers
Placing skip counting numbers over the top of a whiteboard is a fantastic place for them.
They are out of the way, but placed in a spot where all students can reference them all at the same time.
This resource is a must-have for third grade when you start learning all about multiplication and division.
Birthday Display
Paxton and Ally have very similar ideas when it comes to the birthday displays! 🙌
Adding them to the wall in a space a little more out of the way is PERFECT.
Wow Work
Paxton is highlighting her student work above their cubbies. 🤯
This is SUCH a fun idea to encourage your students before the day even begins. They get to see their very best work on display while hanging up backpacks. 🤩
Another great idea for your classroom is to use clothespins on top of your place holder page for each student.
That way swapping out student work is as easy as unclipping the old and clipping up the new. 🌟
Cubby Labels
Paxton is another super star when it comes to customizing labels. 👏
She took one of the editable labels included in the bundle & added student numbers.
Now, her cubbies are labeled for years on end AND match everything else in her pastel retro classroom. 😍
And the best part of this?
Paxton got to choose the label design she liked the best for this particular spot and purpose.. 🙌
