Every good bulletin board needs a border. This helps the bulletin board feel complete. But should you use printable bulletin board borders or stick with the ones you can find in a craft store?
That is the question I’ll help you answer.
And if you choose to go the printable bulletin board border route, keep reading for HOW to actually use this resource!
Are Printable Bulletin Board Borders for Me?
You’re on the hunt for the perfect set of borders to finish your bulletin board display.
You may have seen some printable versions of borders, or maybe this is an entirely new concept to you! Either way, here’s what you need to know about them to figure out if you want to use them in your classroom or not.
They are the same things you will often see in craft stores or teacher stores, but these are a file you will access and then print from your computer.
The Perks:
Why would you want to print your own borders? Here are a few reasons:
✨ They will match your classroom theme PERFECTLY. No more worrying about if the colors will blend or clash.
✨ You will NEVER run out. No need to fear the product being discontinued or never being able to find it again. 🫠
The Downsides:
Here are a few downsides to consider before jumping all in:
➡️ Using these borders takes you extra time. You will need to print and cut out any borders you want to use.
➡️ These borders take a little longer to set up because they are not as long as borders you would buy in a store.
How to Use Printable Bulletin Board Borders
If you’re still here, then here’s how to set up printable bulletin borders!
Honestly, it is pretty simple!
Step 1:
First, select the style you like. Find a bulletin board border that has been made in your classroom decor theme, or one that will blend nicely with your theme!
These printable bulletin board borders were created to match my Modern Calm Colors decor bundle.
Once you find a set of borders you like, pick a style that matches the display you are putting together.
Step 2:
Print out your borders!
Select the page number of the style you like best, and choose how many copies of that border you would like to print (as shown in the print dialogue box below 🙂).
As a reference, I printed 8 copies of these borders for a 4 ft. x 3 ft. bulletin board.
Step 3:
Cut your borders out!
Your borders will print two to a page, so there is a little bit of cutting involved!
I highly recommend using a paper cutter or photo cutter to make sure your edges stay perfectly straight.
Then, use a scissor for any small trimming that is needed!
Step 4:
Finally, assemble your border around your bulletin board.
Then, sit back and admire the beautiful display you just finished!
Bulletin board displays can be your favorite part of your classroom. Why not put a more custom border around them to make them extra special?
