Maybe you have been interested in using Powerpoint and Google Slides Templates in your classroom, but still have some questions about what’s included, how the timers work, font questions, etc.
I wanted to answer some questions for you in this blog post! 😊
And if I missed a question you have, let me know 😉
Question #1: Do these slides work in BOTH PowerPoint and Google Slides?
Yup! 🙂
When you purchase one of my slides templates, BOTH the PowerPoint and Google Slides versions are included.
After you purchase a resource, you will receive a zip folder that includes at least two different documents. Here is a picture below ⬇️
One of those documents will be the PowerPoint file of the resource. (This file will end in .pptx)
The other document is a PDF with a link to make a copy of the Google Slides version.
After you click the button that says “Click Here”, you will be redirected to your Google account and prompted to Make a Copy of the Google Slides templates.
They slides are then automatically added to whichever Google Drive account you are currently logged into.
Question #2: How do the timers work?
A timer can be easily added to any slide by following these steps. 🙂
- Copy and paste a timer onto whichever slide you’d like to use it on.
- Place it anywhere on the slide and change the size of the timer, or make any other adjustments you need to so it is perfect for your slide!
- Click the play button.
- The timer will count down and make a chime sound when the time runs out.
Below is a visual of all of the timers that are included in each of my Google and Powerpoint Slide Templates.

Question #3: What sound does the timer make when it ends?
When the timer goes off, it has a chime sound.
Watch this video to hear what this sounds like!
Question #4: Are the titles on the slides editable?
Yes!
I have included an editable version of every slide to change any of the text.
You can tell it is an editable slide because the title of the slide will be “Your Text Here” as seen below.
If you are using Google Slides, the fonts look slightly different on the Google Slide version since Google does not allow fonts to be imported.
If you want to find ways to add different fonts to Google Slides, I walk you through the steps to add some secret fonts to your account in this blog post!
Question #5: Can I add images to the Powerpoint and Google Slides Templates?
Absolutely!!
Adding images is a great way to reinforce concepts you are teaching, add some flair, and keep kids engaged during your lessons!
If you are looking for some other fun ways to spice up your slideshows, I share 4 creative ways to use slides to keep students on task in this blog post. 😊
Question #6: Are the colors customizable?
The colors are not customizable.
If you are looking for a different color scheme or style of slides, here is a blog post of many different options and styles!
Question #7: Are the fonts you used included?
In the PowerPoint version of the files, YES! I embedded the fonts I used into those files so you can use the same ones as you edit the slides for your classroom!
If you are using the PowerPoint version of the file but aren’t seeing the embedded fonts, this blog post shows different steps to find and recover those missing fonts!
The Google Slides version is a little more complicated and only has some fonts included.
This is because I have flattened some of the slides and inserted them into the background as images. That way the heading fonts will be there. However, I also add text-editable versions of all of the headings. Those will be in a slightly different font (since Google does not allow you to import fonts).
