1. Flip Calendar 2. Clock Labels 3. Voice Level Posters

I LOVE how every item this teacher (@megchandler18) is using in her classroom has a purpose. Because she used a classroom decor bundle, everything goes together so perfectly.

This image shows a decor classroom idea with calming colors, a cursive alphabet, classroom jobs bulletin board, and voice level posters on a whiteboard.

All of these pieces have a purpose in her classroom and are great classroom decor ideas 🙂

✨The clock labels help students use an analog clock to identify the time

✨The flip calendar is an easy way to display the date without writing it each day

✨Displaying voice level posters is a great way to help reinforce and remind students of expectations

Each of these pieces can be found in my Modern Calm Colors Bundle

4. Alphabets & Number Lines

Hanging alphabet posters in your classroom for your specific set of learners is huge.

Alphabets for the littlest ones with lined letters and pictures to go with each letter (like the one in @ms.kruegerr classroom below).

This image shows calming classroom decor with pastel colors on the alphabet and calendar that are hanging on the wall and whiteboard.

Primary alphabets that keep things simple, but make the fonts a little more fun and exciting!

This image shows a bright classroom alphabet line with pictures that go with each letter, and a bright calendar bulletin board display.

Cursive alphabets allow older learners to focus on learning a new format and style of letters. The picture on the left is @smilingabout6h classroom. She used the modern calm colors theme and added the cursive alphabet line to her classroom 😍

Adding a number line to your classroom wall that your students can use for reference (even your older learners) is also a great way to keep your classroom decor cute and practical.

5. Skip Counting Posters

Displaying these skip counting posters in your classroom and teaching your students how to use this resource can dramatically help their multiplication journey 🙂

This image shows skip counting posters 1-12 on a bulletin board.

I LOVE this display @the.teachers.style has created for her classroom. The skip-counting numbers are large, easy to read, and create a beautiful, yet practical display in her classroom.

As a bonus, these posters are a FREEBIE! So you can start making your classroom cute & practical today! Head to this blog post to download these free skip-counting posters 🥳

6. Ten Frame Number Posters

Another decor classroom idea is connected to teaching numbers.

Number posters with ten frames are an amazing tool to help our little learners fully comprehend and understand counting and numbers! Students can refer to them throughout the year 🙂

This image shows a classroom wall with number posters, 100 chart, and other math vocabulary posters.

This bright display of 10 frame posters in @mrs._campbells_corner ‘s classroom shows how these posters can be informative, and provide a cute pop of color in your classroom!

If you want these same number posters, you can grab them here!

7. CUBES Posters

CUBES is a great strategy to teach students how to solve math word problems! But, as students are learning CUBES, it can be hard to remember each step of the process.

Displaying each individual step with a visual reminder of what students are supposed to be doing is SO helpful for your students (and yourself!).

These CUBES posters on the left incorporate the colors from my Boho Dreams and Simply Neutral classroom decor bundle.

This neutral set is a FREEBIE! So, grab these posters and start transforming your students’ relationships with word problems today!

The CUBES posters on the right are included in my Modern Calm Colors Math Bundle and Modern Calm Colors Classroom Decor bundle!

8. Base 10 Posters

Base 10 posters can really help students fully master place value. Students can refer to these again and again during their math block.

This image shows base 10 block posters.

Why not add base 10 posters that are simple, yet connected to your overall classroom theme?

These particular posters are a part of my Retro Groovy bundle and show place value in many different ways. This means students can gravitate towards the representation of place value that makes the most sense to them!

9. Math Posters Wall / Bulletin Board

This decor classroom idea is to create a math wall or a math bulletin board. 🙂

Creating a center in your classroom filled with different math posters is a great way to support your students as they can refer to them throughout the year. 💪

And, it can add some color and match the rest of your classroom decor as a bonus!

This image shows a classroom wall display with calming color alphabet posters, 100 chart, skip counting posters, and multiplication chart.

This display by @craftingintheclassroom.

All of these math posters (and more!) are a part of my Calm Colors Math Bundle AND Modern Calm Colors Classroom Decor Bundle. Below is a math wall in @missmercersday classroom 😍 The only posters not included in the calm colors bundle, are her ten frames number posters.

10. Calendar Kit

Is an elementary classroom really complete without a calendar display? 😉

Incorporating a calendar that matches your classroom decor not only provides SO many discussion and learning opportunities around the days of the year but also is great for teaching weather and seasons!

While it looks complex, setting up a calendar display is actually simpler than you might think. Also, there are SO many different ways to hang or attach your display to a bulletin board or wall. Check out my ultimate classroom calendar setup guide here

11. Sound Wall

This decor classroom idea is for primary learners! Sound walls are an incredible way to visually display the different sounds your students are learning throughout the course of the year.

This picture shows a sound wall bulletin board display with locks covering sounds that have not been taught yet.

Covering new sounds with locks adds to the suspense of each sound lesson. 🔒

Also, students are able to look back with pride on the vast number of sounds they have mastered by the end of the year!

Grab this sound wall here!

12. Computer Shortcut Posters

Let’s be honest…we all have Googled “Cut Shortcut” from time to time, right? 😉

If we need some assistance from time to time, our students probably could use the extra help too!

This picture shows computer shortcut posters such as cut, copy, paste, undo, etc on a bulletin board.

Adding these posters to your classroom can save your students time as they work on their computer skills!

It will also save you time, and keep you from answering the same question over and over again. 🤪

Grab these computer shortcut posters here!

13. Hand Signal Posters

Using hand signals in the classroom is something that dramatically changed my classroom management as it cut back on so many little disruptions 😍

I’ll never go back!

Another decor classroom idea is multicultural hand signal posters to use non verbal cues in the classroom such as asking to use the restroom, getting a new pencil, etc.

Being able to display these posters makes it quick and easy for students to look at the poster and sign what they need.

I like to post them where I have a clear view in the classroom so I don’t have to memorize the signs, but can quickly glance at them and sign back “yes” , “no” , or “wait”.

If you haven’t heard of hand signals before, or are looking for more information on how to use them in a classroom, check out my blog post!

14. Schedule Cards

As a teacher, I have loved displaying visual schedule cards for my students. It has helped me cut back on the number of times I hear- “What time is recess”? Or “What are we doing today?”

Secondly, they are SO easy to swap out or move around if a change needs to be made last minute (use velcro dots or magnetic tape).

Finally, it saves me time from having to write up the schedule each and every day. These reasons make adding a set of schedule cards a no brainer for my classroom!

15. Classroom Jobs Display

Last but not least, I love using a classroom job display. Creating some sort of job display is a great way to save yourself time and easily remind students what their job is.

My classroom jobs displays come in two versions: a primary version that includes a picture for reference, and a fun font version without pictures. Above are the primary versions in the Happy Hues theme and Modern Calm Colors theme.

The image above shows a few of the classroom jobs that come in the Simply Neutral Classroom Job resource!

There are SO many ways to setup your classroom for student success using classroom decor! Taking time to find and create displays that help your students be successful during each part of their school day is key.

But, these displays do not have to be boring, or fighting with each other for center stage. Using a classroom decor bundle that incorporates practical displays is the perfect blend of cute and useful. 🌟

If the bright colors sprinkled throughout this blog post caught your eye, be sure to check out the Happy Hues Classroom Decor Bundle! The bright, cheerful colors bring the feeling of summer into your classroom year-round. ☀️
