The 3 Best Places to Find Affordable Classroom Rugs

A rug has an amazing way of bringing a room together and creating a warm, welcoming vibe. 

But, rugs aren’t cheap. 

And on a teacher’s salary, buying a $300+ rug isn’t always feasible.

Don’t worry though! Here are three places where you can find stylish and affordable classroom rugs without breaking the bank 🙌

Ross

Believe it or not, I have found some awesome rugs at Ross! (In fact, all of my large area rugs inside my home are from Ross!)

Because Ross is a bargain store, each location has a unique selection of rugs. So, you might not find these exact ones at your local Ross, but you’ll likely discover some great options!

The large area rugs (8×10 size)  I saw at the Ross near me were in a $70-100 price range. 

There were several different styles when I visited! This means you can probably find something that fits your decor theme. 

Black and white rugs work with ANY decor theme and are never a bad option. 

This tan rug would work wonderfully with a boho, neutral, or pastel classroom theme. 

I think this rug is a GREAT match for a groovy classroom decor theme! 

All in all, it was definitely worth a trip to see what Ross had before looking at other places for affordable classroom rugs.

Here are three rugs I noticed when doing some research for this blog post that would look great in a classroom! 

One quick note, I have not personally purchased any of these, so please check out the reviews before adding it to your cart! 

This rug is a great blend of having a pattern without being too much! It would work great with a pastel, calm colors, or groovy classroom theme! There are several different color options, so you can choose which one matches your classroom best!

My only hesitation with this rug is (based on the comments), it may be a little thin. BUT, it is machine washable, so that is a big plus! 

At the time of writing this blog post, you can purchase this rug from Amazon for $80. 

This was the next rug that caught my eye. 🥰

I love the bright colors, but the rug overall doesn’t feel too much. 

It would be a great addition to a classroom with a Tropical Vibes or Happy Hues decor theme. Any decor that has bright colors would make the perfect pairing to this rug. 

Although this rug is a little pricier, $150 when writing this, it has some EXCELLENT reviews. 

I’m not sure you can have a blog post about classroom rugs without showing one with a rainbow. 

This adorable rug would be perfect for a primary classroom, and any classroom with Tropical Vibes, Happy Hues, or even Calm Colors decor. 

Amazon is currently offering this rug at a deal of $150, so watch for sales from time to time!

If you are striking out everywhere else, rugs.com is not a bad option when looking for affordable classroom rugs. 

I will say, this is definitely the most expensive of the options, BUT they do run great sales. 

I ended up finding the rug I used for the 1st grade classroom makeover with the Tropical Vibes decor. 

The bright colors on the rug go PERFECTLY with the colors and add to the beachy, paradise feel of the classroom. 

Rugs.com was doing a big sale around Memorial Day, which is when I purchased this one. It was still about $200, so on the more expensive side, but it is a high-quality rug. 

A few things to note if you choose to go with rugs.com:

➡️ They will ask you if you want to purchase a rug pad when you buy a rug. I really don’t think it is necessary. This rug seems super thick and sturdy. 😊

Classroom Rug Tips

Before you go find your great classroom rug deal, there are a few tips I want to leave you with. 

The rugs pictured are an 8×10 size. This is a great size for in front of your whiteboard or another large area in your room! 

I always suggest choosing a machine-washable rug or one with lots of colors and patterns to help hide the dirt! 

Finally, don’t feel like you need to go with the traditional squares with different colors for each line if you don’t want to! 

Rugs that are created for the home can easily be used in a classroom as well. ❤️
